Taquile Island or Isla Taquile is located on the Titicaca Lake in Peru. It's about 45 Km far from the shore of the city of Puno. The island has about 2.200 inhabitants and is located at 4050 meters above the sea level.

Saqsaywaman was once the capital of the inca empire, it is a huge wall structure located at nothern of Cusco, about 20 minutes from Cusco downtown at an altitude of 3.701 m. It played an important role during the the spanish invasion as it was used as a fortress by the incas against the spanish conquerors.

When our tour van set off to Saqsaywaman it was raining, our tour guide said that the rain was not good, and if it doesn't stop or lessen it wouldn't be possible to visit Saqsaywaman, but besides that that was our luck day, right after we arrived in Saqsaywaman the rain started to lessen and it almost stopped completely, but we bought a peruvian hat just in case and to keep our hair dry. We had no umbrellas, but the weather during the day was really nice so we didn't need one.

The Saqsaywaman walls are really massive, the view is amazing and mesmerizing, most of the stones used to build it are really huge, that makes you think how the incas were capable of cutting, polishing and stacking up these heavy stones. You can hear a lot of people conjuring conspiration and aliens theories to explain it. At a first glance, the place seems something fake, but once you get closer, have a better look and touch it, you realize how real it is and makes you admire even more what people are capable of achieving once they have a purpose and the right "motivation".

The are a total of three line of walls that spreads through a long part of the site, at the middle you can find a huge open area that is if often used in modern days to celebrate the annual winter solstice Inti Raymi inca festival.

The place is usually crowded with tourists with a lot of tour groups visiting the place at the same time, but will find lots of space to roam around, to have a better view of the walls you can go up the stairs of a steep hill oposite to the walls, and from the top amuse yourself with the stunning view of the entire site.

The expectation for Machu Picchu was really high, I've arrived very late in Aguas Calientes, the city close to Machu Picchu, I was really tired, the train travel drain your energy, once I've arrived to Aguas Calientes I met my guide, he took me to the hotel, and asked my at which time I'd like to go to up to Machu Picchu, he said we could watch the sunrise there, but we should depart very early, I had no second thoughts, this was a unique chance, so I had to wake up at 4 am next morning, and for my surprise almost everybody in the hotel did the same, when I went downstairs to the lobby, all of them were having breakfast and getting ready to set of.
